Louisiana Central operates on a premise that driving up the levels of educational achievement in the region is both necessary and doable. We believe that collaboration among educational institutions and our civic and business partners is the best way to pursue both our individual and collective goals. Central Louisiana has an opportunity-rich educational environment. We are committed to bringing these opportunities to students of all ages both on our campuses and through distance learning. No person in our region who wants to learn should be deprived of that opportunity.
We are dedicated to a broad spectrum of learning in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM). Each of these enables and enriches the others. All are necessary for Louisiana Central to achieve its full potential.
Louisiana Central and the region’s primary higher education partners (Central Louisiana Technical Community College, Louisiana State University of Alexandria, Louisiana College, and Northwestern State University) have pledged our collaborative support to each other and to all willing partners to drive up the numbers of high school graduates (or equivalents), skill credential earners, and those earning two-year, baccalaureate, masters, professional and doctoral degrees in the regional workforce.
Our central goal is to see Louisiana Central’s achievement levels in each of these categories equal to or above the Southern average by 2030. We encourage all comers to join us in this transformative endeavor.
Each year, Louisiana Central will convene a Higher Education Summit to review our progress and renew and redouble our efforts.
